Agilis Traditional Energy Solutions
With regional energy markets impacted to shifting degrees by local and global factors, the means to
forecast future prices and manage "energy" budgets for producers and intensive end-users can require
constant and expert attention. For many companies operating in competitive wholesale and retail
markets, there are a multitude of choices that depending on the risk appetite can allow for up to 100%
exposure to price movements for short or extended periods. Understanding the risks and rewards of
hedging decisions through rigorous analysis is imperative given the dramatic price movements
frequently observed. Without this insight, lost revenues or increased costs may be substantial.

With the development of more energy efficient equipment and monitoring devices, companies are
evaluating often sizeable investments from a return on savings basis. In order to accurately determine
the probablistic benefit range, quantification of the variability of energy costs is necessary to access the
attractiveness of the investments. This value can also be increasingly assigned to tangible environmental
attributes (efficiency, emission reduction, etc) and may make a marginal project attractive.

Agilis has experience in the fields of wholesale and retail electricity (marketing and trading), natural gas,
nuclear, coal and power plant operations. Specifically, Agilis has worked on projects such as:

-Created a business strategy and execution plan for the development of a global merchant energy
business which included trading/marketing strategies, capital raising, risk policies and hiring plans.

-Designed and built an energy commodity risk evaluation and simulation engine using advanced
mathematical techniques to quantify the retail energy budget exposure for a large healthcare company.

-Created a business and operational plan for a retail electricity business to capture new opportunities in
the national energy management field and optimally position itself for future capital raises.
