forecast future prices and manage "energy" budgets for producers and intensive end-users can require
constant and expert attention. For many companies operating in competitive wholesale and retail
markets, there are a multitude of choices that depending on the risk appetite can allow for up to 100%
exposure to price movements for short or extended periods. Understanding the risks and rewards of
hedging decisions through rigorous analysis is imperative given the dramatic price movements
frequently observed. Without this insight, lost revenues or increased costs may be substantial.

With the development of more energy efficient equipment and monitoring devices, companies are
